Hi, I’m Rick.

I’ve spent more than 20 years building and leading technology organizations across startups, high-growth companies, and regulated environments. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on making technology work for the business — not the other way around.

Most recently, I led enterprise technology and product functions at Placer.ai and PEAK6, with responsibility spanning IT strategy, cybersecurity, identity, business systems, and AI adoption. Before that, I spent five years at Grubhub leading identity, applications, and core services, and earlier in my career I led secure, mission-critical technology operations at the FBI.

Across those roles, one pattern kept showing up: organizations often end up with technology that is more complicated than it needs to be. Tools become disconnected. Vendors pile up. Nobody is quite sure who owns what. And the people running the business end up spending time managing technology instead of using it.

That’s why I started PresenceWise.

Today, I work directly with small and growing businesses as a technology partner — helping manage everyday technology, strengthen their digital presence, and create custom solutions when existing tools don’t fit.

Sometimes that means helping a team with Microsoft 365 or their computers. Sometimes it means rebuilding a website, sorting out vendors and accounts, or creating an application that solves a specific operational problem.

The goal is always the same: make technology simpler, more useful, and easier to live with.
